Eve Fest…goodbye and thank-you…

The Director and Board of Directors of Columbia Eve Fest, formerly First Night Columbia, announce the conclusion of this wonderful event. We are joyful and proud of all we have accomplished, sad to see it’s conclusion, but confident in our decision.

After 21 years, we move into the future with deep, heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, volunteers, entertainers, and attendees. Thank you for giving us many beautiful memories and the opportunity to bring high quality, multi-cultural entertainment and artistic inspiration to our lovely community. We appreciate each and every one of you! Here’s to a future filled with hope and a never-ending spirit of celebration!

…Jane, Willie, Debbie, Karen, Cassie, Kathleen and Greg..

Plan to “Color Your Dreams in 2016!”
Come join us for a New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31st, 2015 from 7:00 to Midnight in The District of downtown Columbia, MO! We have some amazing entertainment coming in and are excited to have lots of ideas colorfully transforming into a wonderful event for YOU!

Our safe and convenient footprint in the closed off block of 9th Street between Elm and Locust encourages the celebratory spirit of the New Year as our participants travel from venue to venue. We will continue this year with the same pathway utilizing the many, beautiful, fun venues throughout the Missouri Theatre, the Rooftop Star Gazing Venue, the 7 venues within the Missouri United Methodist Church, and the 9th Street Stage. The 5K Run/Walk kicks off at 4:00 in front of Cyclextreme, doors to the Venues open at 6:30, Entertainment begins at 7:00.

A warm welcome to our new Contributing Sponsor, Phoenix Health Programs! EF Logo Phoenix’s not too late to become a sponsor of Eve Fest! We still have some great exchanges to offer! Columbia Eve Fest is a not-for-proft 501 (c ) (3).

Jordan Wax & Lone Pinon!

EF Lone Pinon Hi ResLone Piñon is an acoustic trio from Santa Fe, NM that plays the ensemble-driven violin music of Mexico’s Huasteca and Tierra Caliente regions, and traditional music from the area known as El Rio Grande del Norte: Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. The band features Greg Glassman (guitar and vocals), Noah Martinez (guitarrón), and Jordan Wax (fiddle and vocals). The three musicians’ careers wove them through the roots of rancheras, onda latina, Missouri fiddling, gospel, rockabilly, Irish punk, Yiddish swing, old-time country, flamenco, and regional Mexican son before converging in 2012 in Northern New Mexican music.
In early 2015 the band’s development inspired fiddler Jordan Wax to travel to Mexico’s Huasteca, a region historically connected musically to Santa Fe by the Camino Real, for a 6-month immersion in indigenous ceremonial and Huapango dance music.

“Armed with hot jazz tunes and heartfelt stories…”They had me breathless…this show is as authentic and charming as its stars.” Though much of their style circles around hot jazz of the Prohibition Era and Great Depression, Victor and Penny’s music tends to stay on the sunny side of these dark times.”
